Maida Smiles has been nominated for ‘Building of the Year 2021’ by global publisher ArchDaily.
The progressive and innovative design was carefully developed to mirror the advanced cosmetic dental service we deliver. It has now been recognised as a stand-out global healthcare project, alongside other entries from Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Brazil, France, China, Switzerland, Thailand, Haiti and India.
Archdaily is considered a reference for the global architecture space, being the most visited architecture site in the world. The ethos behind the ‘Building of the Year’ Award is to engage its massive following, and the largest community of architects on the internet.
With 15 separate categories, voting remains open for a two week period for visitors to reward the best projects published on the platform over the last 12 months.
Maida Smiles Founder and Principal Dentist Pedro Gutierres said: “This is another terrific endorsement for our clinic which has attracted a large amount of attention since opening in 2019. We are thrilled to receive this level of recognition from ArchDaily which is highly regarded across our the global architecture community, and helps demonstrate the passion and attention to detail in everything we do.”
Maida´s uniquely intricate design involved more than 1600 individually handcrafted ceramic discs, to create a honeycomb cluster ceiling-to-floor wall concept. It’s a creative reimagining of ceramic dental implants which are commonly used in restorative dentistry and helps communicate our meticulous and fastidious approach.
The clean, clinical and sophisticated edge was also crucial to communicate our brand identity.
“We are proud to be developing a strong profile as a state-of-the-art, technologically advanced dental practice in the heart of London, with a highly qualified, caring, compassionate and knowledgeable team. The setting in which we operate is obviously of paramount importance for professionalism and setting the right tone. This is why we opted for a design to soundly complement our offer as a specialist in facial aesthetics and cosmetics, and a leading implant dentist and orthodontist.”
