Zygomatic Implants

No bone implants

Zygomatic implants make full mouth restoration possible for patients with insufficient bone density to undergo the regular dental implant procedure. So, if you’ve been told your jawbone is not strong enough for dental implants, then zygomatic implants will work perfectly.

What are zygomatic implants?

  • Get back your natural teeth
  • Same day missing teeth treatment
  • Restore your confidence and self-esteem
  • Have immediately loaded teeth in one day
  • Longer teeth implants for the upper jaw

Zygomatic implants use a total of six implants, two of which are longer and hook into the cheekbone (zygomatic arch) for extra support and stability for patients with insufficient bone density at the front of the jaw.

Often paired with the All-on-4 dental implant treatment, zygomatic implants bypass the region of atrophic or shrunken upper maxilla, providing a stable foundation for the All-on-4 attachment.

You’ll need a consultation first

Assess your suitability

All patients will be required to undergo a full assessment, which includes detailed treatment plans and quotes alongside a CBCT 3D digital scan to assess the existing bone structure and how suitable you will be for zygomatic implants.

The consultation will be with an implant dentist with a degree in implantology and extensive experience in full-mouth rehabilitation.

  • Zygomatic implants engage the very strong bulk of bone which forms near the cheekbone. The implants are extra long and reach into the cheekbone.
  • Up to eight ordinary implants can be supported with four zygomatic implants.
  • The implants provide a secure foundation, where crowns, dentures or bridges can be attached.
  • The dental bridge holding up to 14 fake teeth is designed and manufactured by award-winning dental technicians and sculpted to look and feel like natural teeth and gums.
  • The procedure is carried out under intravenous sedation with certified anaesthetists to ensure minimal pain, discomfort and anxiety.

With zygomatic implants, patients can expect their replacement teeth to be just like their natural ones.

They’ll be firmly secured, durable and long-lasting. They’ll never fall out or move, so you can eat, smile, talk and even sing without limits or worries.

Maintaining them also requires no special care, you’ll be required to look after them just like you would your natural teeth. Plus, if you’ve had missing teeth for a while and your jawbone has deteriorated, you might have noticed some collapsing or facial sagging, zygomatic implants in this case, will restore and help improve the structure of your jaw, and in turn, your facial appearance.

As zygomatic implants are placed into the cheekbone, they avoid the need for pre-implant procedures like bone grafts and sinus augmentations, which tend to be costly and lengthy, extending the overall treatment time.

For example, these additional procedures can add an additional six months to the treatment length, as we wait for a sufficient amount of time of healing to pass.

In comparison, zygomatic implants are placed in one stage, where the implants and bridge are immediately loaded.
