Bruxism (tooth grinding and clenching) has many effects on the sufferer, most commonly – tooth wear and broken teeth.
One of the most debilitating effects of bruxism is headaches, migraines and chronic tension headaches. These symptoms often go untreated because who would think it is caused by tooth grinding or clenching?
As the pandemic continues, dentists are seeing more stress-related dental conditions.
The increase has shown that it is “more important than ever” for people to visit the dentist regularly to address any issues that could have a long-term impact.
If you’re sleeping, you may not notice that you’re grinding your teeth, but your spouse or partner may notice. Grinding often leaves “distinct patterns of wear that can be seen only during a dental exam”. A mouth guard can be beneficial to those grinding or clenching. That’s why we are offering a Dental Examination for new patients + 3D Future Smile Scan for £75.00 which includes 20% OFF on the Night Guard (bruxism treatment).
Commercially sold night guards are different from the ones fabricated by the dentist because custom-made night guards are made to fit the patient exactly. This is made possible by taking an impression of the mouth. A negative copy of the upper and lower teeth is taken so a plaster cast can be created. The cast is also called the model cast or mould and it is used by the dental laboratory to make the custom night guard.
The dental mould plays a key role in fabricating the night guard. The material (soft, dual laminate or hard acrylic) is shaped around the mould to form a perfect-fitting protective barrier between the upper and lower teeth. The night guard can be made for either the upper or lower teeth. After the night guard is made, the mould is used to check how the night guard fits and how the bite comes together. Fine adjustments are made if necessary.
As soon as the night guards have been fabricated, they are delivered to the patients along with proper instructions for wear and care. It comes with a case, where they could be kept whenever they are not worn. It is seldom that some discrepancy will be encountered because the night guards are made from the cast created from the dental impression. They should have a snug and comfortable fit and should be stable in the arch. It should not rock or press on any part of the mouth to cause pain and discomfort.

We also have special offers running from time to time, so keep an eye out and contact our clinic if you are searching for a teeth whitening deal in London.
Step 1: The procedure begins with a short preparation of your mouth for the whitening procedure. The dentist will cover your gums, lips, and the skin around your lips, leaving only your teeth so that it can be exposed to the Zoom WhiteSpeed blue LED lamp.
Step 2: The dentist will apply a layer of advanced Zoom whitening gel to your teeth. They will then shine the WhiteSpeed blue LED lamp onto your teeth to accelerate the whitening process. The gel and the light work together to gently penetrate the top surface layers of your teeth to remove stains and discolouration.
Step 3: The whitening gel will be applied for three or four fifteen-minute sessions for a total time of 45 – 60 minutes, removing and cleaning your teeth after each 15-minute cycle. This extra step allows our dentist to monitor your colour closely.
Step 4: Once the three sessions have been completed, your teeth will be cleaned, and you will go home with a brighter, whiter smile in just one visit.
