Your first dental check-up
If you’re a new, non-registered patient to Maida Smiles, your first-check up will cost £110, unless you combine your check-up with a hygiene appointment, which will cost £200 with a dentist.
Our dental exams will check for cavities, signs of gum disease and evaluate your overall bite, function and risk for developing other harmful oral conditions.
A critical part of your long-term oral care, dental check-ups should be held at least once every six months to ensure the preventive care of harmful conditions like gum disease, which once have progressed past a certain stage cannot be reversed, but only managed.
To ensure that we offer the best possible service and treatment for each person, all general procedures which will form your individual treatment plan are discussed and agreed at your initial consultation.

We know the pains of phobic and anxious patients, and as we don’t want any of our patients to miss out on the dental care they need for their smile to survive, we’ve set up our clinic in a way to put their fears at ease.
Patients have the option to add-on a sedation service to their treatment, with options for either oral sedation or IV sedation, which will keep you conscious, but will ensure you have little to no memory of your procedure – and no memory, means no pain.
Specific care to alleviate and manage symptoms of gum disease
Our gum dentists (periodontists) are responsible for preventing, diagnosing and treating periodontal disease, ensuring the damage caused by gum disease is minimal. For example, receding gums, black triangle pockets and tooth loss are common consequences.
Gum disease happens when the tissue around your teeth gets infected, causing inflammation, with the main contributor being down to plaque and tartar build-up, which is not frequently removed with root planing and scaling treatments.
When gum disease progresses past the initial gingivitis stages and minor inflammation, there can be little in the way of curing it, but we can ensure we stay on top of the condition to prevent further issues from developing as a result.
