If you’re booking your first hygiene session with Maida Smiles Clinic in Maida Vale, then we would recommend combining your hygiene appointment by undergoing a check-up with the dentist first.

For £200, new patients can undergo a comprehensive check-up, which will consist of fully assessing the mouth to learn the extent of tooth decay and gum disease.

From this appointment, we’ll be able to target oral health concerns far better with a clear direction for your hygiene appointment, which will aim to reverse any signs and symptoms of gum disease and decay we uncover.

Knowing when it’s time for your next hygiene appointment

Patients are recommended to visit our dental hygienist, Hala Jumah every six months.

However, if patients are experiencing any of the below signs and symptoms of gum disease or decay, then it’s best to schedule one as soon as possible, and might benefit from booking a check-up at the same time.

Deep hygiene cleans for gum disease and receding gums

You’re not alone if you’re struggling with common gum disease consequences like receding gums and black triangular pockets, and we know that some patients might be fearful to come in for a clean if say, for example, the plaque and tartar seem to be keeping your teeth together.

Qualifying as a dentist back in 2005, Hala knows more about tooth decay and gum disease more than your average dental hygienist and can help patients spot the earliest of signs and nip them in the bud before they become real problems.

I had the lovely Dr Shankar for a 4 month Invisalign treatment. I mainly had overcrowding that needed sorting out after having had braces as a teenager and not wearing my retainer. Dr Shankar was delightful and has a lovely energy about him that made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole process.
