What Are White Fillings?
White fillings use composite resin — a tooth-coloured plastic reinforced with glass — matched to your existing teeth for a seamless, natural appearance. They prevent further decay and tooth breakage while reducing post-treatment sensitivity.
White vs Amalgam Fillings
We recommend composite over mercury-based amalgam. Modern composites bond directly to the tooth, require less removal of natural tooth structure, and typically last 10 years or more with good care. Note: amalgam is being phased out across Europe from January 2025.
