There are a few signs that shouldn’t be ignored, as the longer you leave them, the worse the situation can become.
- Heightened tooth sensitivity to touch or hot and cold
- Sharp tooth pain, especially when biting down
- Toothache that won’t go away
- Staining on the front surface of teeth or tooth turning black
- Lumps on the gum, or pus pockets
- Black triangular spaces between teeth
- Receding, throbbing, tender or bleeding gums
- Your last check-up was six months ago
