How we’ll replace your teeth with acrylic dentures
If you’re getting dentures for the first time, it’s important to understand the process and what to expect. During your first appointment with us, if part of your process involves tooth extraction, we’ll take your impressions before we remove the tooth or failing teeth to create a custom-made, immediate denture.
Your impressions are sent to special dental laboratories, where your prosthetic will be handmade to your exact requirements and measurements to ensure a secure and long-lasting fit. Once it’s been made and sent back to us, we’ll invite you in to initially fit the acrylic denture, where we’ll make a few adjustments and alterations to ensure your comfort. Depending on your type of tooth loss, the acrylic denture will either be self-stabilised, relying on suction or adhesives to stay in place, or will be attached via metallic clasps onto any remaining teeth.

I have quite sensitive teeth near my gums and I can find the probing and investigation quite uncomfortable during a consultation, but this wasn’t the case at all. I didn’t experience discomfort and felt in very safe hands. This also applied to the hygienist work. I didn’t even have to ask Priscilla to avoid using the ultra sound cleaner on the sensitive areas of my teeth.
