If you are looking for an evening dentist, Maida Smiles is open until 20:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 09:00 to 18:00 on Saturdays. An evening dentist is simply a dental practice that keeps appointments available after normal office hours, so you can have a check up without taking time off work.
Our other weekdays, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, run from 09:00 to 18:00. We are open Monday to Saturday.
A late appointment helps anyone whose working day does not leave room for a dental visit. That includes office workers, shift workers, parents who collect children from school and people who would rather not spend annual leave in the dentist's chair. Our children's dentistry service notes that timings are flexible so that appointments do not disrupt a child's school day.
The late sessions are open to all patients, and our team will tell you which dentist is in on a given evening or Saturday when you call. A routine visit such as a check up is the easiest thing to book at these times, as set out in our routine check ups.
A dental emergency is a problem that cannot wait for a routine slot, such as severe toothache, a broken tooth, a lost filling or swelling. Our emergency appointment is £99, and our same day emergency appointments page explains what the fee covers. Call as early in the day as you can, because same day slots are limited. According to the NHS, you should call NHS 111 if you have a knocked out tooth, severe pain that painkillers do not ease, or swelling that is getting bigger. The NHS says to go to A&E or call 999 for heavy bleeding that will not stop or severe swelling of the mouth, lips, throat or neck with difficulty breathing. If you are unsure which applies, call 111.
Preventive care is the part of dentistry that fits most easily into a busy week. A scale and polish with a hygienist is £115 and you can read about hygiene appointments online. For anything beyond a check up, such as a filling or a crown, ask us when you book and we will find a time with the right dentist.

A new patient examination is a full first check of your teeth, gums and mouth, with a written plan for any treatment. Our new patient examination, at £110, includes a medical history, x-rays and a discussion of your concerns, followed by a treatment plan.
An existing patient examination is £95. A £50 deposit is taken when you book and is refunded when you attend. If you would like to book a late slot for your first visit, ask for a Tuesday or Thursday evening or a Saturday when you call, and we will tell you what is free.

I have quite sensitive teeth near my gums and I can find the probing and investigation quite uncomfortable during a consultation, but this wasn’t the case at all. I didn’t experience discomfort and felt in very safe hands. This also applied to the hygienist work. I didn’t even have to ask Priscilla to avoid using the ultra sound cleaner on the sensitive areas of my teeth.
